500 word rational

Our finial project was to interpret an existing script.Three of them was given to us, I decided to go with the Frankenstein story. The Frankenstein script was mainly focused on visualisation and not so much animation as the Matrix or the Dojo scene.

I had to create lab items such as test tubes, container, microscope, gallery section and machines etc.

I was having problems with the bones rigging so I decided to give the biped a try which I found to fun and easier to use until I have to sort out the heading and fixing the envelopes.

I change the story slightly by having the Frankenstein create be a woman. The story is that the scientist woke one day and feel lonely so he decided to build hisself a wife. Before my other renders got overwrite the scientist would be watching tv, drink tea, reading the paper and sleeping all alone. All these would little activity would be taking place in between each scene with a grey, black and white effect while the scientist creating the wife but sadly overwriting my these renders made me lost them and couldn’t get them re-render in time for hand in (Due to me starting the project late as usual), as mental ray takes forever to render one image.

Looking back at the animation I need to work on my timing and speed flow of it because in some scenes it move quicker than I thought it would. As the project is finish I still hasn’t  change my mind from choosing visualisation rather than animation as i feel im by far more stronger when it comes to modelling or texturing. By saying that I don’t want to lost all the skill and knowledge I have gather about animation, as there is still big room for improvement.

I believe if I had started this project earlier and spend enough time on it the outcome would have been better. As I am now entering my final year my time management skill will need to improve. Because of that I feel a lack of animation has left the final outcome of the project a bit flat.
